Shake Their Hand: Celebrating Veteran’s Day

Veteran’s Day is upon us and we believe it is ever important to give our thanks to America’s servicemen and women for their endless sacrifice. Allen’s Flowers and Plants believe that no Veteran should go unloved ever and to know that so many are suffering on this side of the states pains us greatly. No man or woman should be alone after serving for this country for when they did from that moment on and to eternity they became our family. Every one of us owes them for what they have done, keeping freedom free and protecting our friends and families. To every veteran we say, thank you for your service to our nation and her people. A History of the Holiday Veterans Day was first celebrated at the end of World War 1 on the 11th hour of the 11th day in the 11th month of the year 1918. Like Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, Veterans Day is celebrated to commemorate and decorate our military to thank them for their time, service and sacrifice in keeping this nation and her values alive. We share the belief of others that not a single veteran should ever feel alone after serving to protect our lives and freedoms. Celebrate and Thank Chances are you know someone who has served in the military or is serving in the military. While they probably know just how much you care for them and thank them for doing what so many others could not, this Veterans Day, be sure to remind them of how much they mean to you. Fall is Here: Great Ways to Enjoy the Season

Fall began on September 23, 2012 and changes are already noticeable. The temperature is starting to drop and the leaves show signs that they are changing color. Autumn is a beautiful time of the year and arguably the perfect time of the year to be outside whether it is for a football game or just a walk or bicycle ride. We are going to talk about fall traditions today, and these are not the normal ‘holiday’ traditions that everyone does, but something more intimate and meant to be a tradition for your family. In this blog, we are going to discuss some great ideas for celebrating fall and some even better giftideas for the countless birthdays and couple holidays that are coming your way. Celebrating the Fall Season Fall still means that you can enjoy the woods, park, the local fishing spot and, of course, the backyard for games and maybe even a cookout or two.
