Celebrate Creativity on Floral Design Day
There is so much to be said for creativity and what it can do to lift spirits, motivate people, and create joy. One group of artists that we celebrate each year are floral designers. Our floral designers are everything to us here in San Diego. We love them and what they do so much because we see what they are able to do for the recipients of their artwork. About Floral Design Day Floral Design Day was created by Carl Rittner, the founder of the Rittners School of Floral Design in Boston. He was considered to be a pioneer in floral art education. While he started the initiative, it was Governor William Weld of Massachusetts that created the day in 1995. National Floral Design Day was then established on February 28th as a way to recognize the art of floral design and appreciate its history. Across cultures and time, floral design has been considered to be an important cultural art form. Celebrating Floral Design Day In celebrating it, our San Diego flower shops recognize and reward our floral design teams. We appreciate that many customers also drop by or send messages to our floral designers, too, not to mention come by for a bouquet or order online. We can also celebrate Floral Design Day through painting, planting flowers, using floral motifs in textiles or other mediums, and creating a bouquet. It may even involve taking a floral design class to understand the depth of artistry that goes into this craft. You can also use social media to share awareness about Floral Design Day, including using the hashtag, #FloralDesignDay, and sharing your favorite floral design pictures.
