Allen's Flowers In 1992, the USA Weekend Magazine introduced the concept of National Make a Difference Day. This day has blossomed and grown in popularity as the time for people to get involved for the betterment of others. It is also the perfect occasion to send gorgeous flowers from Allen's Flowers. The gift of flowers can be that spark of enthusiasm to get someone excited about helping to make their community a better place. This is the mission of Make a Difference Day. People come together to volunteer for wonderful activities that will improve their community and the world at large. The fourth Saturday of October has been officially designated as National Make a Difference Day. Creating a special day to make a difference for to betterment of the world is a worthy cause. There are so many people in our communities and around the world that could use the help of those willing to volunteer. As people contemplate their actions to be involved in Make a Difference Day, here are some key things to keep in mind. Be an inspiration to others to join in the volunteering movement for betterment. Be sure to share all volunteering efforts with friends and colleagues to inspire others to get involved. Taking care of others and the environment will help us all. Make a Difference Day in San Diego

The fourth Saturday of every October is Make a Difference Day. Celebrated all over the country, this is a day dedicated to serving the local community in some way. It's a great day to get involved in a volunteer project anywhere in San Diego or create your own project that can make a difference in the lives of others. There are even websites to help you find something to do in your local area on Make a Difference Day. Just in San Diego County, there are food drives, car washes, and other volunteer projects that you can join. There are also many listed that can involve your kids so you can get them started early on becoming more socially conscious and service-oriented. Also, there are many Breast Cancer awareness events still going on through the end of October. This is the perfect time to send a flower arrangement and use this simple gesture to make a difference in someone else's life. Join the Helping Hands Program for Make a Difference Day

With Make a Difference Day just around the corner on Saturday, October 24th, it makes sense to participate in our Helping Hands Program, which gives back to the local community and San Diego schools, nonprofits, and churches throughout San Diego County. We added this program to our San Diego flower shops and online flower shop because, as a long-standing business in San Diego, we believe it is important to give back to the community. This unique fundraising program can helps many throughout San Diego plus it is easy to donate or to join. It was designed to be as convenient as possible to encourage as many people to donate and as many organizations to join as possible. For those of you that would like to contribute, all you need to do is select from a pull-down menu on your order form. There is an option for the Helping Hands Program, which provides a way for you to donate money as you order flower arrangements, plants, or gifts. Here, you can also select where you would like your donations to go to.
