Make a Difference Day in San Diego
The fourth Saturday of every October is Make a Difference Day. Celebrated all over the country, this is a day dedicated to serving the local community in some way. It's a great day to get involved in a volunteer project anywhere in San Diego or create your own project that can make a difference in the lives of others. There are even websites to help you find something to do in your local area on Make a Difference Day. Just in San Diego County, there are food drives, car washes, and other volunteer projects that you can join. There are also many listed that can involve your kids so you can get them started early on becoming more socially conscious and service-oriented. Also, there are many Breast Cancer awareness events still going on through the end of October. This is the perfect time to send a flower arrangement and use this simple gesture to make a difference in someone else's life.
