If you have used us before, you have come to realize that, at Allen’s Flowers and Plants ,we strive to be the very best and bring you only the highest quality and freshest cut flora available. Dealing directly with the flower and plant growers of Southern California to ensure we get only the best and freshest cuts for our valued customers is part of our long-standing family tradition and hallmark of our business.   

With five locations sprawling throughout the San Diego area of Southern California, one of the locations we are very proud to serve is the beautiful, idyllic area of Coronado, California. For 30 years, we have been serving this community, including residents and businesses.

Same-Day Service

We live in it ‘want it now’ society where everyone is accustomed to instant service. With such busy lives, it is understandable that, when we get calls or online orders for flowers, flower arrangements, plants and gift baskets, the request is always ‘as soon as possible,’ ‘yesterday,’ or ‘now.’

Often, with flowers, it is a spontaneous decision or hectic lives have led to us forgetting a very important birthday or anniversary. Celebrate June as National Rose Month

Every June, we celebrate the beauty of the magnificent rose as part of a month-long holiday. During this month, we celebrate the history and culture behind the flower’s eternal meaning of love.

For centuries, that is what the flower has symbolized. Even in ancient Greece, people believed that the flower was connected to Aphrodite.  Napoleon of France’s own wife adored the flower, growing hundreds of variations of the flower. Speaking of France, they were also the first to bring cultivated roses to our country so that we could enjoy it and grow it here. Thanks to them, June as National Rose Month was born.

It’s a Month-Long Holiday!

When thinking about how to celebrate, it may not be practical to decide to plant a rose once a day for 30 days.  While those of you with a green thumb that may jump at the chance, others may opt for a different way to celebrate.

There are many ways you can show appreciation of the rose, starting with just adding a single rose plant or rose bush to your garden. Not everyone has a garden though, so why not consider ordering a fresh cut dozen with a vase to be used as a centerpiece? Not only would that brighten up the place, but the aroma would freshen up any room.

Brightening Others’ Lives

Roses also make excellent gift for the right people, of course. While it might not be best to give your boss a big bouquet of roses for his birthday, a loved one or a close family member would surely adore them, especially if they were to know the reasoning behind the gift. There are so many varieties of roses and ways that they can be expertly arranged that you can give them again and again as a floral gift without it ever looking like the same bouquet twice.

Another idea to share your love of roses during the month of June is to start a local gardening club with other rose lovers. Whether it is started in person or online as part of a social media platform like Pinterest or Facebook, it’s great to find others that like to grow or decorate with roses.

Children also love flowers, and though roses have thorns, you can always cut them off and then share one or two with those little ones in your life. You can also take this time to enjoy some time with them by teaching them about gardening and how to care for a rose plant or rose bush.

Customers in the San Diego region have chosen Allen’s Flowers since we were just a stand that was run by our company founder in 1980. And, for the past four years, we have been awarded a top 100 florist in the country award and have been selected as San Diego’s best for two years now.

We owe those accolades to our faithful clientele that are like family to us! At Allen’s Flowers, we would like to take a quick moment here to thank you all for helping to make that happen. Our goal has always been to deliver the best customer service and the freshest cut flowers to San Diego and the nearby areas we serve.

To reach out to more clients within San Diego county, our three locations have all been designed to offer the same quality in products and service that you have come to expect and enjoy from us at Allen’s Flowers. The staff at all of our locations are trained to show the same love and care towards our customers and our plants that Allen did when it was just him and his wife running a flower stand.

Getting to Know Our Locations

Allen’s Flowers has three separate locations all in the San Diego area. Be sure to visit us at each spot and get to know us. We can be found in Downtown San Diego, another in La Mesa, and the last in El Cajon. We’ve established these locations to strategically cover as wide an area of San Diego as possible. 

  • Downtown San Diego—We’re located right in the center of the city, it really doesn’t get any more convenient than that. Besides an enticingly opportune location, our San Diego shop has its own set of special San Diego prices that would only apply to delivery in the San Diego City area.
  • La Mesa and El Cajon—Now, maybe you can’t get to our main San Diego location, or it’s just too far out of your way. That’s not a problem! We have two more locations–one in La Mesa and the other in El Cajon. Don’t think these are just mini satellite shops; these are full service, fully staffed locations with the same quality flowers and employees that you have come to expect from us at Allen’s Flowers.
